I know, Regular Silas 🇩🇪🇪🇺 (npub1lv3…frnx). I'm being cheeky. But patriotism does NOT mean lifting everyone up for our benefit. Patriotism means keeping your country strong and prosperous with fidelity to its founding, and being willing to sacrifice to protect that founding and the rights guaranteed within. Ideally, that will lift everyone, but that's not the point in an of itself. The point is to preserve a set of values that lead to civilization.
