supposedly they say it is licensing, but OBS Studio, Kdenlive, etc all support H.264 and H.265 on Linux. However may they are using the OS to do the rendering. DaVinci supposedly has the codec support inside their software. But if that is the case then why does the Windows version include the codecs? Something does not quite add up, yet the free Win version works.
