I know, but the solution to a feature not working well, shouldn't be to add yet another setting. You are effectively just solving the issue for those who either already know about the setting when it is added (i.e. the bug reporter) or those who manually search through the settings, which a minority of users. All other users will be left with a buggy feature.
It would be much better to solve the root issue of the feature not working as intended, improving it for everyone.
