I was more of a SNES person, but this statement is absolute fact. The Genesis/Megadrive looked seriously futuristic and just generally nice looking as a piece of hardware. Even the controllers. (Hardware-wise, I also really loved the choice to implement a headphone jack on the front. I always wished that more consoles had done that.)
