I suppose as the water rose and the land shrunk somewhere there was competition and treachery and what they did and they think saved them is paring the community down to one family’s genes and learning to treat every other person as an enemy.

Another just so story, or a part of one, but I mean to focus on the psychology of that beginning somehow and I just had a flash, realized that trauma is surely a central factor in it. 💜
