One weird thing about growing up between two cultures is that you sometimes misidentify the source of the things you know.

Here's a silly little example:

When two elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers.

I've known this proverb all my life, and I've always assumed it was an English saying, something the average white Brit or American would also know. But apparently that's not the case? It's just an African thing?
