Female attention is a prize for men that they need to earn. It may be that the unintended (by the women in question) outcome is female separatism, who knows - I'd like to think most women will eventually come to understand that no relationship with a man is better than a bad one (if not necessarily better than a good one, if they can find that).
Re female trades - I'm (maybe!) getting ready to buy a house and I know I'll need at least a plumber; unfortunately stopcocks.uk wasn't able to find a female plumber in my city, but I'm sure I'll be able to find some women to work on my house.
