Tip for ya. I do use Ancestry dotcom. However FamilySearch.org is free and easier to use once you get the hang of it. I use them both. Now.... guess what? Both are owned and operated by the LDS church (the Mormons). They run on a very large percentage of the same data bases.

One notable difference. FamilySearch runs one global family tree and everyone is free to work on it. Therefore you might, from time to time, find that the tree is tweaked a bit on one of your branches by someone else. They may be right... they may be wrong. In general it improves with time like wiki. Because of this method, you might just enter in a couple generations back and suddenly a connection is made and the entire tree from there back is pretty much complete.

Please for the sake of others though. If you make changes to any part of the tree, please be pretty sure you are correct. There are places to add documentation and reasons you made the change etc... like a change log so everyone can see new info and reasons.
