I think we can say that the US seems to have bombed Kharg island and hasn't claimed to have attacked any of the actual oil industry involved targets on the island. So, is this the destination for those couple thousand US Marines who are headed to the gulf? That would be my guess. They're softening up the island in preparation to take it and deny Iran an oil export capability.
