After Loki murdered the Norse god Baldur, the other gods imprisoned Loki. In order to create restraints to hold the shapeshifter, Odin turned Loki's son Narfi into a huge wolf, who tore apart Nari (one of Loki's other sons). Then Odin bound Loki with Nari's entrails.
