Window managers are not the default on any big and popular distributions, Pop!_OS is already fairly popular and you can see it recommended online because they used to have a good stable Gnome/Ubuntu base with up to date Nvidia drivers, now they have completely changed what people liked about it. It's a completely different DE that's very unstable and ugly
