I don't know where those behind the "thin scrollbar" trend got their computing education, but they need to go back there and do the HCI course again. Then they need to spend at least a week using glasses that distort their eyesight while they work, so they can learn what people with vision challenges experience while trying to use what they built.
Same for the "small text" trend. And the "it doesn't matter how much you zoom or unzoom this page nothing changes" trend.
