prescriptions are more than just preventing people from accessing narcotics tho. They really only mean an MD has confirmed the med isn't going to be actively harmful to the patient (allergies, known medical history, indications/contraindications, etc). Whether a prescribed drug is effective is not known until the patient starts taking it cuz everyone is unique. Very much agree on all points about universal access to practitioners and meds, but i don't personally see prescriptions as part of that picture.
