Which makes the "benefits" of such even more disproportionate.

We're used to thinking of mining for stones aka jewels as a frivolous activity that is not worth the cost. We really, really need to get people thinking about other mining that way as well. (Which is part of why I've been reluctant to boost "This would be a great time to go solar!" posts since the invasion of Iran.)
