Discovered something strange about my solar + battery that I don't understand the mechanics of at all.
We got a whole-home battery when we put solar in. It's Tesla brand unfortunately, the solar company insisted it was the only one they supported that fit my needs.
In any case, whenever the actual grid loses power for some reason, the battery seamlessly powers the house. Lights don't even blink, it's instant.
However, any UPS/APC battery backup systems immediately go into battery mode.
