I’m not doubting duress exists. I just don’t think duress applies to worker co-ops choosing to rent instead of buy in a business context.

Yeah contracts can be invalid even with consent due to inalienable rights. That is one of the arguments developed by David Ellerman against employer-employee contracts I subscribe to, but I fail to see what inalienable right is violated in renting out capital.
