For me, part of the purpose of modifying the Lord’s Prayer is that it makes me pay attention to what I’m praying because I can’t just rely on “muscle memory” (I also sometimes say it in a language other than English although that seems to be more disruptive in the context of a worship service than tweaking a couple of lines).

I like the word “sin” & the phrase “save us from the time of trial” because they are harsh. They remind me that not all mistakes are easily forgiven & that there is always a possibility of being asked to make hard choices in life. They don’t sugar-coat things or minimize wrongdoing or wrong-thinking. I define sin as that which separates me from God rather than a sort of spiritual rule-breaking, so it’s not to be taken lightly. Using “sin” reminds me of that & requires me to take a hard look at what I have done or not done while “save” reminds me where my redemption comes from.
