Homer's Odysseus is fucking fascinating. He's bigger than life. He's brutal. He's deceitful. He's constantly scheming.
Damon plays something so incredibly tame by comparison.
Y'all, Homer's Odyssey may be an ancient poem but it (unlike the Iliad) is also pretty much a rollicking good time. It's lively, exciting, & often funny. This movie does not deserve to be called "the" Odyssey.
