It's a cunning ploy by Starmer. In the 2014 indyref, the unionists said if Scotland became independent it would cease to be in the EU, the rUK would stay in & veto Scotland rejoining. This probably swung the No vote. Now that it looks like the independence parties in Scotland will get a majority in May, Starmer will rejoin the EU in order to again be in a position to be able to veto an independent Scotland rejoining, thus stopping a vote for independence. /s
