This fear would also destroy bitcoin if everyone turns off their nodes though. So what should we do? Run second nodes with listen=0 set? How can we create an append only directory on linux to prevent blockchain from being erased from all nodes?
Software diversity is beneficial for this reason, but the only other alternative client to Core was ran by a crazy person who converted it to a 💩 coin client and it does Knots support BTC anymore.
