I have been daily driving a pinephone with phosh since early 2022. Since I came from a dumb phone due to 3g being shut of in my area I actually gained features and support with the switch.

Things I would like to see are RCS support in chatty and better navigation programs. Because, I have to use a standalone GPS for navigation and RCS would just be cool.

I think there are still improvements to be made but based on my experience with phosh on my pinetab2 I think the biggest problem linux phones face is Anemic Hardware. On my pinetab2 I can run any Android App I wan in waydroid. I can game, i can check my brother's glucose reading and get alerts when he goes low; waydroid works great when given decent hardware.

On my pinephone however waydroid is basically unusable. This is largely due to insufficient memory. When running waydroid my pinetab2 8gb variant uses about 5-6gbs of RAM but my pinephone only has 3gb and even the pro version and liberty phone are capped at a still insufficient 4gbs.

If the hardware is incapable of running the software people expect to run on phones It doesnt matter if said SW and or potential users Exist or not.

Also camera support is something i think i severely lacking on many mobile linux devices.
