If it makes you feel any better, this idea that “you have to love the process” is by no means universal. Many artists and writers and sculptors and whatever have reported hating the process but doing it anyway. Obviously it was “worth it” to them in some sense or they would give up, but there’s no inherent rule that you have to love the process.
