Sometimes I think the key to the relatively recent surge of the far-Right)is not so much social media (although its clearly a major factor), but their argumentative style;
using disinformation & lies, the Right always offers a simple answer; here's a group (usually migrants or another minority) who are causing your problem(s).
The difficulty for the Left, is often their answer is 'well its more complicated than that'.
Complexity requires time to sink in; simple arguments don't!
