I think many Americans are experiencing cognitive dissonance right now. Deep in their hearts, they know that everything is going in the wrong direction, away from democracy & towards oligarchic tyranny. But, they still go to work, see their friends, play with their pets, do sports, garden, worship, cook, get married, give birth & see elderly die. But while they’re living their lives, their freedoms are vanishing, their health is being harmed, discrimination tolerated & the environment destroyed.
