there are two issues here imo.
whether everybody should just follow their own interpretation (or that of a guy on social media) re whether laws were properly passed, no matter what most others think, even those with more knowledge about the law and US legal history.
whether we should disregard laws in order to follow our own moral compass.
your examples are simplistic. a more difficult question might be whether people might never convict those with similar backgrounds etc.
