even the most optimistic scenarios with batteries is like storing flood water in baby bottle in hope it would solve drought later.
(Not mentioning the ecological impact of mass production of batteries).
There isn't one simple & elegant solution. Most solutions would still need nuclear and/or fossil fuel energy at some capacity. And ability to trade/transfer/balance electricity at great distances over the continent (which makes the system somewhat vulnerable).
