If we measure privacy as data minimization (who knows what and for how long), it would be more private. Less entities would know about the purchase and a record of it would be kept for a shorter period of time. Also, each entity would have less information about the transaction details itself. This of course is only the case in an ideal scenario, as you pointed out.
