Sorry to disappoint again, but when programming is written out in text, the text is interpreted to an assembler which requires the use of both types of brackets; using only parentheses would foul up the language interpreter's assembly and therefore the program.

Your statement about math illustrates the interpretation you made about programming. I should also add that ASCII has long since updated to Extended ASCII which is now being supplanted by Unicode. You're welcome.
