After the UK “simulated” a meningitis outbreak just few months ago, now they are getting ready for another MASS VACCINATION after few cases reported in a British college campus.
The targeted population is again the young healthy people, same as it’s been done with Covid vaccines, while the REALITY IS THIS: 👇
For Neisseria meningitidis (including MenB), the vast majority of carriers never become ill.
Rough estimate
Out of 100 carriers:
~99.9 or more will NOT develop disease
~0.1 or fewer (≈1 in 1,000 carriers) may develop invasive Meningococcal disease
Expressed differently, risk of progression from carriage → disease:
Typically 0.01% to 0.1%
That’s about 1 in 1,000 to 1 in 10,000 carriers
