Google seems to have removed the bits necessary for AOSP to be actually usable on Google devices. I hate to have been right, but relying on the good will of Google to build a privacy-centric user-first OS was doomed to reach this situation, and this was always an inevitable fate.
This turn of event bothers me almost as much as people treating me crazy for repeating that this would obvious happen.
