aho apparently the 4k transcodes were slow because burning an image-based subtitle track in during transcoding is slow as shit
since i like my subtitles, for now i just set jellyfin to limit transcodes to 1080p which'll be fine for watching on computers for now
appletv w/ infuse plays the files direct so gets source quality
