It's an odd thing when someone says, "Well, you're allowed your opinion," as happened this morning.
Allowed by whom? And if "they" are allowing me to have my opinions now, might they revoke permission in the future?
I sense a subtext along the lines of "You're allowed your opinion, but I wish you weren't."
