I remember making this sketch and not really thinking about the composition since it was just a practice sketch. But afterwards, I noticed that it worked quite well. I just darkened some outlines to enhance the focal area (mainly around the lily flower and its one leaf) to give it a bit of interest.

To me, when I look closely, I see so many details missing that could be more interesting if I added them. But, when I take a step back I do see it works as it stands. I don’t think I’ll ever be satisfied with my art due to this type of conflict… and that’s OK. It’s fun to experiment.
