Be careful with Wikipedia: "The biotic pump hypothesis demonstrates how important our rainforests are to the surrounding ecosystem."

A hypothesis demonstrates nothing until experiments validate it, at which point it becomes a theory.

And if critics are right "that the biotic pump effect is relatively weak," it's hard to see how this benefits agriculture of any form.
