The only argument here is in the price of fiat though. If the institutions do exactly what you say then we just go back to 2017 prices and the protocol continues as is, just less fiat to convert into. But the value proposition is money that can’t be censored. Both monero and bitcoin work. Why argue over the price of fiat? And if the internet goes out I’m very skeptical that anyone around me would take a “goldback” as a medium of exchange over something tangible like meat or eggs.
