When it comes to losing sats experimenting with different lightning wallets, I've lost A Lot of sats. However, this is the FIRST TIME I've been #rugged by a custodial, and honestly, I deserve this one.
Current LifPay (npub1pze…x463) Play Store download (v 1.1.0) is rugging users. You are able to receive sats but all sorts of errors pop up when you try to move your sats out of their wallet. The apk straight from the website is more functional, and multiple updates ahead, however...
1. It's still a custodial wallet
2. It is not open source
3. The dev team isn't public (you have to dig to find Jim He)
This is 2024, there is no reason for this from a bitcoin focused company. I'm mad at myself, not because I lost money, but because my kids were using this wallet for allowance stacking at my recommendation. We only found out about this issue when trying to withdraw funds to put them into enuts to trade back and forth without fees. All together, less than $100, but now I get to explain to my kids a valuable lesson I wish I didnt have to.
