What if your text had to fly across an ocean to reach your friend? 🐦📩🌍
Meet "Carrier Pidge" — a new messaging app that swaps instant texts for virtual carrier pigeons.
Made by developer Noah Iarrobino, the app sends your message on a simulated pigeon flight. No instant delivery here.
The pigeon flies at 110 mph based on the real GPS distance between you and your friend.
City to city? Seconds.
Across a continent or ocean? Hours, even days.
You can even track your bird on a live map — turning every text into a mini adventure.
Example: a 3,376-mile message takes about 1 day and 2 hours.
Plot twist: each pigeon has a 0.2% chance of getting _lost_. And flight speeds vary by ±25%, so arrival times aren’t exact.
No read receipts. No instant replies. Just send it, watch it fly, and wait. 🐦
It’s impractical on purpose. Iarrobino built it because the idea was too funny to ignore, not because we needed another chat app.
