during the crash in the 90s the housing prices dropped sharply, the countryside industries (”bruk”) were finally shut down. This marked a transition in Swedish production economy and the end for many smalltown jobs. In my village half the population speak Dutch and work remotely to NL. A fully functional house 1 hectar land and lake view can be bought for under 100k€.
