This is an overly simplistic framing that puts entirely too much focus on one asshole.

It’s not just the toxic owner. They have no commitment to moderating well. They have shown time and time again that they will change policy to benefit powerful right wing nuts or the wealthy. They have favoured majority over marginalised folks time and time again.

There are ample people still on X. If it changes hands AND they made a commitment to good moderation AND I saw some sustained track record with the users they already have, maybe I would go back.

They didn’t lose my trust over one person in one moment. They made a long series of decisions as a company over the course of years. That is what lost my trust. Getting rid of the worst person there would definitely help, but it’s not enough.
