I used 'house dressing' in quotes because I was not aware of any official term for it, but it makes sense that the most fake of the Western cultures does 🤪
It is only fairly obvious if you know that it is happening, but even then it is akin to deception, and contributes to the overall sense of unattainability in much the same way as magazine pictures (and now Instagram, YouTube et al) do for one's overall looks, life, etc.
It is set dressing for the real world, and it is very much a part of everything that is making us feel inadequate.
Should bother way more people.
