There seem to be three interconnected aspects of the difficulties many young people have in find jobs right now:
1. costs of employment have been raised by a range of recent policy shifts;
2. in a time of precarious finances & cost-of-living pressure, people are less likely to voluntarily change jobs (making for less vacancies);
3. AI & other technologies have been eating away at 'entry-level' jobs (with as noted before longer term negative consequences).
