Nice, I was convinced when I saw the popular opposition to the change on Github, and philosophically I am in favor of bitcoin remaining just money without all the extra features. It's been apparent for a while mining centralization is an issue, and I don't know how a new chain would fix that, but for the moment a new coin with a 'bitcoin is money' philosophy is more attractive to me than the core chain https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/32359
