I think that there's a perception that people go rightwing as they get older. I don't think so, I think that people go rightwing due to it being advantageous to them and their lifestyle as they get older, if they are fortunate to be well-off enough. Whereas those who struggle, or see others struggle, keep a common humanity, and tend to go left.
