I view technology as a tool for salvation and also for oppression. The answer probably lies in changing the system as there is likely no other practical workaround.
The tech tool is powerful, but it cuts both ways.
I believe you refer to crypto and privacy tools as the positive disruptors of the paradigm.
But without complete end-to-end self sovereignty of the tech, those efforts will be inneffective.
In practice: For crypto, at the end of the day most (all?) of the spending is still done with fiat.
For privacy, most devices still run an OS that will forward the info to Prism after it is decrypted on the client.
