I respect this view.
I think it all depends on the state one is looking at.
I argue, that every powerful entity works along the system theory of Niklas Luhmann. That every system works for its survival.
In our economy every company needs to grow in order to please their stakeholders. And as Google, TikToc, Metas products or Microsofts are already serving nearly all the world Market, their potential to grow can only be met by innovation or expanding within new markets as they try in AI.
They are more and more hysterically to find new sources of income. And as more difficult it gets, the more illegit practices they are entering. And with the big majority of our societies using their services, they have a lot of power over societies preferences.
This is why I mostly fear this big corp. And am happy there is free and good alternatives for many software.
