Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 added minimal firmware support for MTE but they still have it fully disabled in the stock OS. It's now possible to enable it via fastboot mode and then use it in the stock OS via ADB but it's not in the regular state it is for the other devices with MTE support. It isn't available as part of Android Advanced Protection Mode or as a developer options feature.
It isn't clear why it isn't enabled for use in the stock OS yet. It appears to work fine and performs fine.
