The trouble is, if you capture the scene long enough for a good exposure of the scenery you get too much light from the moon. If you reduce the exposure to compensate then you get the moon, but sod all scenery. My best moonshot was about 20 images stacked, each one a fraction of a second exposure. To get real detail you need to stack loooooads of shots.
