OK, this is on me - of fucking course installing iOS 26 included auto-updating to be re-enabled, even though I had disabled it before. Of course that should have been the first thing I checked.
God, I hate these intrusive, disrespectful tech assholes so much, sometimes I can literally taste the bile in my mouth.
