I get it...we were hit with an unexpectedly high property tax bill on the house my girlfriend inherited when her mom passed last year. They weren't supposed to raise the taxes on it until after the probate process was complete, but they did anyway, and it was literally four times the billed amount as last year. I had been putting money aside for a new phone but had to use that to help her make the payment and avoid a lien.
