The Andes are beautiful, and I’ve been in them in 4 countries. But that’s like extolling the moral virtues of America by citing the lyrics of *Take Me Home, Country Roads*. Low population density mountains can be pretty nice everywhere, but when you descend the slopes West Virginia has full nude strip clubs and all the oxycontin you can snort.
The Andes, by the way, have present day tribes that still practice cannibalism.
